Toledo man faces felony charge after police chase

BOWLING GREEN — A Toledo man who led authorities on a 28-mile pursuit from Perrysburg Township to a rural area south of Bowling Green has been indicted by a Wood County grand jury.

Michael C. George, 29, of 122 Dickens Dr., was indicted Thursday for failure to comply with an order or signal of a police officer, a third-degree felony.

According to the Ohio Highway Patrol, the 28-mile chase began about 4 a.m. Feb. 22 when a Perrysburg Township police officer saw a motorist exit southbound I-75 onto northbound I-475, stop in the middle of the highway, back up, turn around, and proceed south on I-75. The motorist led police on a pursuit, at times exceeding 100 mph.
