More than 200 test their skills in Toledo Area MATHCOUNTS competition

Shizheng Tie, 14, an eighth grader at Maumee Valley Country Day School and resident of Maumee, ponders a question during the final round of the Toledo Area MATHCOUNTS competition. She won the event hosted by the Toledo Society of Professional Engineers on Saturday. About 200 sixth, seventh, and eighth graders from about 25 area public and private schools competed. It was the 30th year for the competition.
