Perrysburg Township trustees OK switch of natural gas provider

Perrysburg Township trustees have voted to change the township’s natural gas provider from IGS Energy, through the Northwest Ohio Aggregation Coalition, to Buckeye Energy Brokers Inc. Township residents will be mailed information about the switch, which will occur automatically unless they mail back an opt-out form. The change is expected to take effect in September.

The proposed offer from Volunteer Energy Services is $0.10175 per 100 cubic feet, less than the $0.104 rate through the aggregation coalition. Trustee Gary Britten said residents could save up to 20 percent of their bill.
