Way Public Library will screen, discuss ‘East of Eden’

Way Public Library will continue its “Reel Talk” series Jan. 9 with a screening of East of Eden.

The 1955 film, which stars James Dean, portrays a wayward Salinas Valley farm youth who vies for the affection of his father. Mr. Dean earned one of the film’s four Academy Award nominations.

The film accompanies the library’s monthly book discussion of East of Eden by John Steinbeck. Sig Humanski, a retired English teacher from Toledo City Schools and a Steinbeck specialist, will be the film’s guest speaker and will also lead the month’s book discussion.

The film begins at 10 a.m. at 101 E. Indiana Avenue, Perrysburg. Admission and refreshments are free. For more information, call 419-874-3135.
