Levis Commons stages 'Play it Forward Toy Drive'

TOWN CENTER AT LEVIS COMMONS

The Town Center at Levis Commons in Perrysburg has launched its fourth annual “Play It Forward Toy Drive,” which will rescue and recycle outgrown toys for underprivileged children.

The shopping center off of State Rt. 25 near the I-475/U.S. 23 interchange, will collect next month gently used, working toys for children in northwest Ohio. Donated toys should be in working order, be clean and have fresh batteries installed whenever possible.

Donations of batteries for the toys can be dropped off at Second Sole, Lily’s at Levis and the Levis Commons management office. Used toys can be dropped off in front of the movie theater from noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday, January 5.

The program keeps toys from being thrown out and end up in landfills, and helps to make sure children who may not have toys receive them.

Play it Forward works with the help of Cousino-Harris Disaster Kleen Up and Penta/DECA Community Service Team, which collect, transport, store, and clean the toys. The toy drive filled 4 box trucks full of toys in 2012.
