Perrysburg Heights Community Center runs a free mentoring program during the school year and sports camps and field trips during the summer.

To help pay for a nearly $100,000 annual operating budget, the Perrysburg nonprofit throws fundraisers.

“Basically we’re at a point, we’re really self-sustaining, and we’re just trying to keep the center open,” said the center’s executive director, Stephanie Serda. “It’s an exciting time.”

On Saturday and Sunday, the center is coordinating a community garage sale and will rent tables for $5 a piece to about 20 different vendors.

The sale is 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days at the community center, 12282 Jefferson St., Perrysburg.

“We really want to bring awareness to the community center,” she said about the garage sale.

The money helps, too, she added. “Every little bit helps.”

For more information, contact the center at 419-874-4529.
