Gift shop, gingerbread houses, cookie orders offered at Penta's Holiday Showcase

A flower and gift shop, a gingerbread house workshop, and cookie orders are all part of the Holiday Showcase this month at Penta Career Center in Perrysburg Township.

The event from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Nov. 29 at the school at 9301 Buck Rd. is to have a Petals and Plants shop operated by high school students in the Floral Design/Greenhouse Production program as well as a gingerbread house workshop for children age 12 and under from 5 to 7 p.m.. Also available will be holiday cookie orders, a gingerbread house display by the Culinary Arts program, and hair and nail care services in the Cosmetology program.

Parking is at the school, next to the Floral Design/Greenhouse Production lab near the large greenhouse or in the visitor parking area near the main entrance to Penta.

To be sold in the Petals and Plants shop are poinsettias grown by students, decorated trees and wreaths, holiday floral arrangements, garden art by George Carruth, candles, and other holiday decorations. The shop also will take orders for pine roping, wreaths, grave blankets, and more.

The gingerbread house workshop, in which children must be accompanied by a parent, cost $25 and is limited to the first 30 children who register by Nov. 26 by calling 419-661-6482. For hair and nail care services through Penta’s Cosmetology program, appointments are encouraged by calling 419-666-1120, Ext. 1217.
