High school musical, fund-raiser, comedy among weekend activities

If the soundtrack is your favorite part of a movie, Perrysburg Musical Theatre's one-show-only presentation this weekend is just for you.

"CINEMANIA: Music of the Silver Screen" is slated for 7 p.m. Friday at Perrysburg High School. The review presents songs from films of the 1930s to the present.

Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for students and seniors. All seats are general admission. There are no reserved seats.

If you're in the mood for a spot of tea, the Let's Do Tea! International Tea and Gingerbread Party on Saturday at Hilton Garden Inn at Levis Commons will not only delight your palate but will make a difference.

The event, held in two sessions from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. or 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., benefits ISOH/IMPACT, a nonprofit agency that supports many programs and relief efforts for children, including the Children's Lighthouse in Perrysburg.

The buffet includes soups, desserts, and tea from around the world. Children can make a gingerbread house to take home. Tickets range from $20 to $35. Call 419-878-8548 or order online at

If an adult beverage is calling your name, have one while comedian Paul Mercurio induces chortles and guffaws in several shows this weekend at the Funny Bone Comedy Club in Levis Commons. Mercurio has won an Emmy and a Peabody Award for his work on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.

Performances are scheduled for 7 p.m. today; 8 and 10:30 p.m. Friday; 7 and 10 p.m. Saturday, and 7 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $14 Thursday and Sunday, $16 Saturday and Sunday. Call 419-931-3474.
