Caroling, Santa visit, movie among local weekend activities

Come in out of the cold this weekend with community events in the Perrysburg area.

A festive holiday menu, caroling, and a visit from Santa Claus will be part of this month's Kitchen of Hope at Zoar Lutheran Church.

The free lunch, which begins at noon Friday in the Family Life Center at the church, 314 East Indiana Ave., is open to all Wood County residents.

Call the church office at 419-874-4346 with questions or to volunteer.

As part of its Reel Life series, Way Public Library will show the film Missing in America at 7 p.m. Friday.

In this dramatic tale of friendship and healing, Danny Glover stars as Jake Neeley, a haunted Vietnam veteran living in exile in the forests of the Pacific Northwest. After a visit from a former platoon member and his young Amerasian daughter, Jake is faced with a life-changing decision.

The film will be shown in the combined space of meeting rooms A, B, C, and D at the library, 101 East Indiana Ave.

Admission and refreshments are free, with the event sponsored by Waterford Bank. Call the library at 419-874-3135 for additional details.

And don't forget to visit Santa Claus at his house on the boulevard at Levis Commons, sharing your wish list and snapping pictures with the little ones.

Santa will be available this weekend from 4-8 p.m. Friday, 3-7 p.m. Saturday, and 1-5 p.m. Sunday at 3201 Levis Commons Blvd.

Call 419-931-8888 for more information.
