Movies, preschooler activities, gazing at the lights among weekend events

If your children offer that complaining refrain -- "There's nothing to do!" -- tell them it simply isn't so, at least not in the Perrysburg area this weekend.

Way Public Library will host a "movie Bingo" program today featuring the animated holiday film Arthur Christmas, a comedy involving Santa's youngest son trying to rescue Grandsanta, deliver a wayward gift, and save Christmas for a little girl when Santa's high-tech operation has a hiccup.

Bingo participants will listen for scenes and quotes in the movie and mark them off a playing card as they watch the film.

Movie bingo will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. in youth activity center at the library, 101 East Indiana Ave. No registration or fee is required, and snacks will be provided.

Contact Adria Pugh at 419-874-3135, extension 109, for information.

Speaking of movies, several flicks are playing at Rave Cinemas at Levis Commons that will captivate young audiences.

Selections include Monsters Inc. 3-D, Rise of the Guardians, and The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.

Check ravemotionpictures.com for movie ratings, show times, and ticket prices.

Preschoolers are invited to Zoar Lutheran Church for story time, a free hour of tales, crafts, and snacks.

Volunteer Christine Scasny will read a Bible-themed story and lead the activities at the church, 314 East Indiana Ave. Call the church office at 419-874-4346 for information.

If all else may fail, buckle the kids into the family car and go for a ride through the city and township neighborhoods to gaze at holiday light displays.
