Downtown Perrysburg Inc.'s motto is you bring the family, and they'll bring the fun.

That motto was on display Friday night in Downtown Perrysburg where there were children's activities with Chortie the Clown, YMCA Fun Bus, face painting, bubble machine, and a miniature train. The organization also had things for adults with a rock climbing wall and a live band.

“Our success is credited largely to our members and friends, who lend their names and financial support to our organization and the many activities that we proudly present such as First Fridays," said Rick Thielen, executive director of Downtown Perrysburg Inc.

The organization's president, Rob Brunner, said such free events that bring people downtown are what makes Perrysburg "the best suburban downtown."

It was the first First Friday of the year. Next ones will be July 5, Aug. 2 and Sept. 6, with each having a different theme and main activities.
