Sports, theater, comedy, music on tap for Perrysburg weekend

A busy slate of Perrysburg High School events, along with comedy and music events, provides plenty for area residents to do this weekend.

■ COMEDY

At the Funny Bone Comedy Club: Fat Fish Blue, 6140 Levis Commons Blvd., comedian Greg Morton has shows at 8 and 10:30 p.m. on Friday, 7, and 10 p.m. on Saturday. Mr. Morton is very animated and is known to use costumes in his acts around the country.

■ MUSIC

Jeff Stewart will play at Stella's restaurant in downtown Perrysburg on Friday. C.J. Manning will perform on Saturday.

Fu5ion will play at J. Patrick's Pub at the Holiday Inn French Quarter Friday and Saturday from 9:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m.

■ SPORTS

At 4:30 p.m. Friday, the Perrysburg varsity swim team will compete in a meet against Maumee.

At 7:30 p.m. Friday, the Perrysburg varsity boys basketball team is playing at Napoleon.

At 7:30 p.m. Friday, the Perrysburg varsity ice hockey team is playing Fremont Ross.

At 8 a.m. Saturday, the Perrysburg varsity swim team is competing in the Ken Gipe Swim Relay competition.

At 10 a.m. Saturday, the Perrysburg varsity wrestling team competes in the Northern Lakes League tournament at Anthony Wayne.

At 2:30 p.m. Saturday, the Perrysburg girls varsity gymnastics team is competing at Napoleon.

At 5 p.m. Saturday, the Perrysburg varsity boys basketball team is playing at Start.

At 6 p.m. Saturday, the Perrysburg girls varsity basketball play is playing Napoleon.

At 9 p.m. Saturday, the Perrysburg varsity ice hockey team is playing Clay.

■ TOY DRIVE

The Town Center at Levis Commons is hosting its annual Play It Forward Used Toy Drive Saturday from noon to 6 p.m. For parents and children who have new toys from Christmas and no room for old toys, the older, usable toys can be recycled for use by underprivileged children. Donations will be collected near the movie theater.

■ WINTER ONE ACTS

Perrysburg High School is presenting its annual Winter One Acts this weekend, with three short plays that puts the audience seating on stage for a close-up look. 10 Ways to Survive the Zombie Apocalypse, Thistle Blossoms, and Of Widows and Vegetables are the three shows. The first and last show are for entertainment and laughs, while the middle show is a drama. Shows are Friday at 8 p.m., Saturday at 2 and 8 p.m., and Sunday at 2 p.m. Tickets are $6 or $7, depending on seating.
