Dogs and children alike were on the prowl today looking for Easter eggs and treats for their baskets at Levis Commons.

It was the second Dog-Diggity Easter Egg Hunt near the clock tower in the lawn next to the Hilton Garden Inn at the Perrysburg outdoor shopping mall. It ran from about 1 to 3 p.m. Treats included chocolate bunnies, gift cards, and of course for the four-legged hunters doggy treats.

The $5 registration per hunt went toward Toledo's PET Bull Project. The non-profit tries to educate and prevent animal cruelty. They also hold training classes for dogs. The organization also tries to give pet food, collars, and other items to owners in need to keep animals out of shelters.

Last year's dog hunt was at a park and had about 25 to 30 dogs. Cindy Reinsel, director of Toledo's PET Bull Project, hoped to double that this year.
