Perrysburg blood drive Friday

Each day, the American Red Cross Greater Toledo Area Chapter’s goal is collect 300 pints of blood to disburse to 24 hospitals in Ohio and Michigan’s Monroe County.

“There’s always a need for blood,” said Tiffany Hayes, a spokesperson for the agency.

On Friday, Perrysburg residents can do their part to help out. From noon to 6 p.m., a walk-in blood drive will take place at Lutheran Church of the Master, 28744 Simmons Rd. People must be 16 years old or older, weigh at least 110 pounds, and be in general good health to donate blood, Miss Hayes said.

People who are exactly 16 must get their parents’ permission before donating.
