Special council meeting set to consider Ride Right

BLADE STAFF

A special meeting of Perrysburg City Council has been scheduled to consider Ride Right LLC as a paratransit services provider.

The meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday in Council Chambers, 201 W. Indiana Avenue.

The city is setting up its own independent transit system after Perrysburg voters approved leaving the Toledo Area Regional Transit Authority in the March election.

That new service is scheduled to start Jan. 1. TARTA is scheduled to pull its buses from Perrysburg on Sept. 22, when its statutory obligation to provide service expires.

Council recently voted to start negotiating a contract with Ride Right, a company from Lake St. Louis, Mo., out of four finalists because its bid of $530,936 in the first year was the lowest.
