Slocum ignites Jackets to big win

The Yellow Jackets returned a fumble and an interception for scores en route to a 29-point first quarter lead Friday in a Northern Lakes League victory at Springfield.

Senior quarterback Steve Slocum completed 7 of 10 passes for 133 yards and a six-yard score to Austin Bishop for Perrysburg (3-1, 1-0 NLL).

Slocum also returned an interception 59 yards for a score, ran for two touchdowns, kicked six extra points, and passed for a two-point conversion.

Mark Delas had just two carries, touchdowns from 1 and 68 yards. Kadin Llewellen added an eight-yard fumble return for a score.

Elijah Todd led Springfield (0-4, 0-1) with 22 carries for 123 yards and a TD. Scott Seymour completed 6 of 16 passes for 173 yards, including TD passes of 26 yards to Ty Shy and 60 yards to Jesean Fisher.
