A construction project to build twin water towers in Perrysburg is under way.

Perrysburg City Council awarded a $4.45 million contract to construct the two towers, each of which can hold one million gallons of water.

The council unanimously approved the contract with Chicago Bridge & Iron, the lowest of four bidders, during a meeting this month.

CB&I’s corporate headquarters are located in The Netherlands and has offices throughout the world, including the United States.

The first tower is to go behind the city service building on Roachton Road, and the second will replace a 250,000-gallon tower on Fort Meigs Road.

The water tower project is expected to take 32 months to complete.
