Hours, routes for public transportation subject of Perrysburg council meeting

Perrysburg city officials will talk next week about public transportation from what hours a proposed bus service should run, where it should go, and how much it should cost.

The meeting is scheduled at 7 p.m., Tuesday in the city council chambers at the municipal building, 201. W. Indiana Ave.

Perrysburg city council members are in the process of developing a new transportation system to replace TARTA, or the Toledo Area Regional Transit Authority.

In the March 6 primary, voters approved a referendum to pull out of TARTA.

TARTA is expected to drop its Perrysburg bus service Sept. 22.

Meanwhile, city leaders have said they plan to place a new levy request on the Nov. 6 general-election ballot to start operating its own bus system Jan. 1.
