Alex Carman, the feisty second-grader featured last week in a Blade story about two Perrysburg children who are battling cancer, has returned home from the hospital, his mother reported today.

The little boy had been at Toledo Children’s Hospital since he was diagnosed with leukemia in March.

The doctor “cautiously” determined Alex’s cancer was in remission, Tosha Carman wrote on Facebook.

“To God we give the glory,” she wrote. “Thank you for praying!”

Throughout the past several months, Alex, 8, was in the hospital, playing with toys, developing a fascination over the Titanic, and skyping with his classmates back at Woodland Elementary School in Perrysburg.
