Perrysburg Township zoning inspector Grant Garn has announced his intentions to retire at the end of the year, the third senior township official to do so in the past week.
Trustees plan to make a formal vote on Mr. Garn's letter, submitted Tuesday, at the township department head meeting at 2 p.m. today.
Mr. Garn was granted medical leave Nov. 28. His retirement will be effective Dec. 31. Kelly Hemminger recently was hired as zoning administrator.
Township administrator John Hrosko and police Chief Mark Hetrick last week announced their retirement at year's end because of changes in the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System.
The state legislature in September made significant changes to the pension law, which goes into effect Jan. 7. Changes include raising age and service limits for retirement eligibility as well as changing the salary calculation.
