Cleveland state senator to speak at Perrysburg Democratic Club meeting

State Sen. Nina Turner (D., Cleveland) is to be the keynote speaker at 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 31 at Perrysburg Area Democratic Club annual meeting
The meeting will be at the Way Public Library, lower level. It is open to the public.
She represents Ohio’s 25th Senate District, which covers the greater Cleveland area. She serves as Senate Minority Whip.
Ms. Turner promotes innovative solutions, collaboration, and regionalism in local governance, including being in the forefront of efforts to reform local government in Cuyahoga County.
A first generation college graduate, Ms. Turner is an advocate for education. She is a
professor of history at Cuyahoga Community College.
At the party meeting, committees will report and officers and members of the Board of Trustees
will be elected.
Club President, Tom Mackin, will report on activities of the club during the last year, especially local efforts to help re-elect Barack Obama as President and Sherrod Brown as U.S. Senator.
County elected officials -- Wood County Commissioner Joel Kuhlman and County Recorder Julie Baumgartner -- are scheduled to speak.
