New car for prize at Belmont Country Club is vandalized

BLADE STAFF

A 2012 red Volkswagen Jetta was supposed to be a prize for the lucky person who got a hole-in-one in a contest at a Perrysburg Township country club, police said.

Instead, in an unlucky twist, the car was reported as vandalized in the Belmont Country Club parking lot Thursday.

Police reported the car’s left side was covered in gray spray paint.

Perrysburg Township police said there are no suspects or witnesses and no arrests have been made.

Ed Schmidt Volkswagon, a Perrysburg dealership, owned the car.

Belmont Country Club is located at 29601 Bates Road.
