BLADE STAFF

A 59-year-old TARTA bus driver was ticketed Monday after he drove off the road and crashed into mailboxes in Perrysburg.

Gregory Gage was driving an empty Call-A-Ride shuttle south on Three Meadows Drive, heading to Sandusky Street, around 7 a.m.

Mr. Gage, of Millbury, told police he wasn’t paying attention and he accidentally drove off the left side of the road, according to a Perrysburg police report released today.

The bus’ front corner struck mailboxes in the center median, the police report said.

Mr. Gage, who scraped his face in the crash, was cited by Perrysburg police for failure to maintain reasonable control.
