Bond was set Wednesday at $150,000 for a Perrysburg man accused of shooting at another vehicle from his pickup as both traveled along a Perrysburg street Tuesday night.

During his video arraignment Wednesday from the Wood County jail, Perrysburg Municipal Court Judge S. Dwight Osterud ordered John Vandersall, 51, of the Colonial Gardens apartments, held in lieu of bond pending a preliminary hearing Aug. 23, according a court clerk.

Mr. Vandersall, charged with felonious assault, is accused of firing shots about 7:35 p.m. Tuesday, on West South Boundary Street near Mulberry Street, at a sport-utility vehicle carrying a man and woman who Mr. Vandersall is not thought to have known, said Pat Jones, a Perrysburg detective. Shots hit the SUV's side and back.

Officers arrested Mr. Vandersall at 1:12 a.m. Wednesday at his home, where authorities found eight rifles and handguns and several hundred rounds of ammunition. Mr. Vandersall is believed to be the weapons' legal owner.
