A 27-year-old California man, lost on his way to buy ice cream, blamed Perrysburg police for making it "not fun to come home" after he was pulled over for speeding.

The incident occurred 4:05 p.m. Thursday.

A police officer, parked at the Shell gas station near West Boundary and Findlay streets, reported David Emch traveling south on Findlay in a silver Sedan.

Mr. Emch appeared to be driving faster than 25 mph speed limit, the police report said.

When the officer pulled him over, Mr. Emch apologized and said he was home visiting but forgot where the ice cream shop Mr. Freeze was. The popular business is located at 627 W. Boundary St.

Mr. Emch, of Redondo Beach, Calif., became "upset" after the officer gave him a ticket.

"‘You guys make it not fun to come home. I wasn't doing anything wrong,'" Mr. Emch said, according to the police report. "‘What happened to giving a good samaritan a break? And I was trying to come here and spend money in your city.'"
