Traffic enforcement blitz in Perrysburg Township runs through Jan. 1

Using grant funding, Perrysburg Township police will be conducting selective traffic enforcement blitz in the coming weeks.

Lt. Jim Pellek announced the dates for the blitz which began today and runs through Jan. 1.

Township officers will be targeting U.S. 20, State Rts.795, 65, 25, and Oregon Road through. Officers will be looking for impaired drivers and enforcing traffic laws and monitoring speed and seat belt violations throughout the township. This will be the township's traffic blitz for the December selective enforcement blitz as well as the Christmas and New Year's holiday traffic blitz.

The additional hours worked by officers will be funded by a grant from the Ohio Department of Public Safety/Governor's Highway Safety Office in conjunction with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The grant period runs through September, 2013.
