A first grader at Woodland Elementary in Perrysburg showed off two 12-gauge shotgun shells just before school on Monday.
The shells were confiscated, authorities said.
The 7-year old student told Principal Bill McFarland he brought the shells from home and that he got them from a box in his brother's bedroom. The student was sent home, and Mr. McFarland told Perrysburg Police Officer Daniel Maciejewski he planned on suspending him.
The student's brother is a fifth grader. The older brother told Mr. McFarland he did not know his little brother took the shells.
Officer Maciejewski spoke with the Wood County Juvenile Prosecutor Timothy Atkins.
He sent the report to Children's Services for further investigation by that agency.
