Going the Extra Mile for Perrysburg Students, a one-mile Family Walk/Run and Community Raffle/Silent Auction will be held on Saturday, August 25 at the Commodore Building (140 East Indiana Avenue).
This community fundraiser’s goal is to help recuperate a portion of the $91,000 missing from P.E.P.A. (Perrysburg Elementary Parents’ Association) and Toth Parents’ Club to provide funding for the 2012-2013 school year. Going the Extra Mile is open to and hopes to reach all Perrysburg residents, especially parents, students, teachers, administrators and alumni.
“We are in need of many donations and sponsorships at this time,” stated Emily Hayes, Volunteer Event Coordinator. “The heart of this fundraising mission is to ensure that the burden of this loss does not fall on the shoulders of our school children. Please help us demonstrate the strength and cohesive spirit that makes Perrysburg a remarkable community!”
Operating Costs associated with “Going the Extra Mile” will be met through donations and sponsor involvement. The event organizers are currently requesting support from local businesses, churches, clubs and organizations to supply raffle items, gift cards, event supplies and funding costs accrued while coordinating the fundraising event. The team aims to raise $15,000-$20,000 to fully fund P.E.P.A. and Toth Parents’ Club for the 2012-2013 school year. Eighteen sponsors have committed to this event so far and are listed below.
