Ft. Meigs Elementary’s Hop-A-Thon fund-raiser set for Oct. 3

PERRYSBURG SCHOOLS

Ft. Meigs Elementary’s annual Hop-A-Thon fundraiser will be held at Historic Fort Meigs located on W. River Rd. on Oct. 3 from 1 to 2:30 p.m.

If there is a rain delay for the third year in a row, it will be held on Oct. 4.

Not only is the Hop-A-Thon a fundraiser that directly supports Fort Meigs Elementary, it is also an event that students and staff look forward to every year. 100 percent of funds raised from the Hop-A-Thon are used to support classroom needs, student activities and community events such as:

Chess Club, Donuts for Dads, 5th grade musical, Grandparent’s Breakfast, Lego Club, Muffins for Moms, Teacher Grants, Teacher’s Appreciation Lunch, Technology, Track and Field, Veteran’s Day Breakfast.

If the event reaches the 2012 goal of $15,000, all students regardless of pledge amounts will be able to enjoy a day at Splash Bay in Maumee.

The organizers wish to thank the 2012 family and business sponsors who have already shown their support — the school has already raised over $8,000. This year there were 54 family sponsors and 17 business sponsors.
