Penta students donate 2,400 items to Operation Breadbasket
Penta Career Center students donated more than 2,400 items for Perrysburg Township's annual Operation Breadbasket clothing and food drive.
"Penta really is a place where magic happens," Elizabeth Kiss Wray, supervisor of human services, said at Wednesday's school board meeting on campus.
Classes competed against each other to see who could bring in the most non-perishable food items, toys, coats, and other donations.
Gretchen Reichow's exercise science class brought in 17.42 items per student, Ms. Kiss Wray reported.
Earlier in the year, Penta collected $530 and more than 400 food items at a cruise-in car show for the program.
Donations for Operation Breadbasket will be accepted at various area locations through Dec. 21. Distribution will be held Dec. 22 at the township offices, 26609 Lime City Rd.
