Chinese educators visit Perrysburg Junior High

During a visit today at Perrysburg Junior High School, a group of Chinese administrators toured classrooms, spent time with students and staff, and presented a scroll to social studies teacher Bill Hilt.

Mr. Hilt showed off his seventh-grade classroom during the visit by nine administrators and educators from Lanzhao Number 35 Middle School. Last year two teachers from the Lanzhao school toured Perrysburg Junior High and were impressed with what they learned about the school. They especially liked the media room where the children were responsible for the information and programs that were broadcast, according to information provided by Perrysburg Schools.

The group today included Zuobin Chen, an administrator and geography teacher, who listened intently as Mr. Hilt showed his classroom to the visitors. Mr. Hilt spent some time at a colorful map, showing his social studies class where the group from Lanzhao Number 35 Middle School come from in China.

Areas toured by the group included the junior high school's library.

Other staff members from Perrysburg Junior High met the visitors, such as sixth-grade technology teacher Jackie Derr who took time to speak with teachers Liping Niu and  Jinglan Wei.

Following the tour, Hao Xian Duan and Liping Niu presented a scroll of the city Qingyang in eastern Gansu province to Mr. Hilt.
