Sensei Amanda Kaufman, Sandan and Certified r.a.d KIDS Instructor comes every Thursday in February. The remaining classes, at the school at 550 East South Boundary, are on Feb. 21 and 28.

Sensei Amanda Kaufman, of Advancing Karate Ltd., is a 3rd degree Black Belt in the martial art of Okinawan Shuri-Ryu Karate-Do, a traditional Japanese martial art employing empty hand techniques that are defensive in nature (only to be used in defense of one’s life, family or country) and nurtures the practitioner in a healthy and balanced development of body, mind and spirit.

Sensei’s study in this art began at the age of five years old; now she is 26.
