Jump Rope for Heart raises money at Perrysburg Junior High

Students at Perrysburg Junior High School were jumping rope, doing hula hoops, and more during the American Heart Association's Jump Rope and Hoops for Heart event from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. today.
This event raises money to fight against heart disease.
There was jump roping and other activities that kept students active through the day. Jump Rope for Heart organization wants people to get active and start a daily, healthy way of living.
Jean Barkow started the event in the late 1970s in Milwaukee at a high school with a jump-a-thon. The Jump Rope for Hearts organization states that 15 percent of children and adolescence are overweight.
