Perrysburg girls soccer team gets national recognition

Perrysburg High School is one of just 10 high schools nationwide honored in the second annual girls’ soccer MaxPreps Tour of Champions presented by the Army National Guard.
A ceremony for this honor was held today between the girls varsity and boys varsity basketball games in Perrysburg.
The trophy was presented by Ohio Army National Guard Sgt. First Class Michael Blessing, left, and Brigadier General Maria Kelly.

MaxPreps ranks more than 10,000 varsity high school girls’ soccer teams.
The Yellow Jackets defeated Mason 1-0 in the Ohio Division I state championship game in November of 2012 to claim the state title and cap off an unbeaten season at 23-0.
The MaxPreps Tour of Champions presented by the Army National Guard recognizes the finest high school football, girls’ volleyball, boys’ and girls’ soccer, and boys’ and girls’ basketball teams in the country through various celebrations and formal ceremonies.
