After hitting each other during two-a-days the past two weeks the Perrysburg High School varsity football team was able to face someone else Saturday morning.
Ottawa-Glandorf High School came to Steinecker Stadium, at Perrysburg Junior High School, for the first scrimmage to prepare the two teams for the regular season. Ottawa-Glandorf took their I-formation offense to the state semifinals last year. The two teams scrimmage against each other every year.

"They are good and a very tough team," said Matt Kregel, Perrysburg head coach. "It is a big wake-up call, if you're not ready to play you will get beat up."

Coach Kregel was anxious to see two keys from his team heading into Saturday's scrimmage - how his offensive line would hold up trying to replace four starters, and how his defense would do after Ottawa-Glandorf "embarrassed" them last year.
Perrysburg's next and final scrimmage before the season starts Aug. 30 against Whitmer High School, is 7 p.m. Friday at Steinecker Stadium against St. John's Jesuit.
"We face tough teams in scrimmages to expose our weaknesses now before the season starts," Coach Kregel said.
