Perrysburg Junior High wins Inaugural NLL All-Sports Trophy

PERRYSBURG SCHOOLS

Perrysburg Junior High’s athletic programs have earned the very first Northern Lakes League Junior High all-sports trophy award.

The trophy is given at the end of the year to the member school that earns the most points throughout the school year. Points are earned for each championship and runner-up finish.

Perrysburg led the competition all year, as both the boy’s and girl’s cross country teams jump started the competition for Perrysburg, with both teams capturing NLL championships.

Also in the fall season, the 8th grade football team completed two years of domination, as they were undefeated for both their 7th grade and 8th grade seasons, and earned another NLL championship. The 8th grade girl’s volleyball and 7th grade football teams earned runner-up finishes.

The winter season was highlighted by the wrestling team’s record-setting and dominating performance, as they too went undefeated and were awarded first place points. The girl’s 8th grade basketball and boy’s 7th grade basketball teams ended up as NLL runner-ups.

Just last week, the boy’s track team came in first place at the NLL track meet, which helped the school secure the trophy.
