BLADE STAFF

Bond was set at $75,000 for a Toledo man accused of stabbing another man at an apartment complex on Oregon Road early today, authorities said.

Terrence Sandridge, 24, of 1117 Norwood Ave., was arraigned in Perrysburg Municipal Court and ordered held at the Wood County jail in lieu of bond, pending a preliminary hearing June 14, according to the Wood County Sheriff’s Office. He was charged with felonious assault in the stabbing of Daniel Schmidt, who was born in 1975, said Sgt. Jim Gross, of Perrysburg Township police.

The victim was taken with what appeared to be a serious injury to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, where he underwent surgery, Sergeant Gross said. A hospital spokesman said she had no information about a person by that name.

The stabbing occurred about 2:40 a.m. at Evergreen Apartments in the 29800 block of Oregon, police said.

Police did not know the motive in the stabbing, the sergeant said.

In June, 2009, Mr. Sandridge, was found guilty of illegal conveyance and was sentenced to two years of community control, according to court records. He was charged with carrying a concealed weapon, a fourth-degree felony, and possession of a deadly weapon in a school safety zone, a fifth-degree felony, after he was arrested for carrying a handgun on the campus of Owens Community College, in September, 2008, records show. He was an Owens student at the college at the time, college spokesman Brad Meyer said.
