Township police said the body was found at a residence in the 12300 block of Washington Street in the morning.

Officers said they arrived about 10:25 a.m. to investigate a report of a “small fire” in the mulch in front of the house. The fire was quickly put out and then police entered the residence to check on the resident and found a deceased person.

The area remains taped off and multiple emergency vehicles surround the home, including township police, fire, and members of the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation.

The incident remains under investigation.
