An incident in which a body was found in a house in the Perrysburg Heights neighborhood remained under investigation Wednesday, authorities said.

Perrysburg Township police said the body was found at a residence in the 12300 block of Washington Street in the morning.

Officers said they arrived about 10:25 a.m. to investigate a report of a small fire in the mulch in front of the house. The fire was quickly put out and then police entered the residence to check on the resident and found a deceased person.

The area remained taped off Wednesday evening with multiple emergency vehicles surrounding the home, including township police, fire, and members of the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation.
