Way Public Library and the League of Women Voters of the Perrysburg Area are hosting a panel discussion at 7 p.m. Tuesday on keeping our water safe and will focus on Lake Erie.

The panel of experts includes Michael Bailey, deputy chief of the Division of Soil and Water Resources of the Ohio Department of Natural Resources. He will focus on the state’s support of practices helping farmers contain the phosphorus from fertilizers going into lakes and streams.

Also speaking will be Leatra Harper, the founder of Freshwater Accountability Project Ohio and of the Bowling Green Earth Day Celebration Walk for World.

Carol Stepien, director of the Toledo Lake Erie Center, will discuss Lake Erie water issues.

Andy McClure, plant administrator for the city of Toledo’s Collins Park Water Treatment Facility; and Tim Warren, director of public utilities in Perrysburg, will round out the panel.

This free program is open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
