Perrysburg city crews repaired a natural gas leak on East South Boundary Street in front of Perrysburg Junior High School early today, authorities said.

There were no injuries and the road remained open, according to police. The school, which was on a two-hour delay, was not evacuated, Perrysburg police said.

The leak came when a portion of the gas line above ground was struck by school crews during snow removal on the east side of the school. Gas was off at the building but restored within a hour, said Rachel Johnson with the district.

The bus loop on the east side of the building was closed off in the morning, but was reopened before any large traffic congestion in the parents drop-off lane, Ms. Johnson said. Alternate plans for lunches weren't necessary as gas was restored in the building.

The leak was reported about 7:43 a.m., according to police. Repairs were completed about an hour later, school officials said.
